The primary reason for visiting Orlando was to spend time with Niece Naomi and Mother Pam along with one of the sisters. A friend of Naomi’s was also along. Naomi is the niece who is engaged in equestrian trade related studies. Fran did a little bit of online research time, and I guess we did okay with the room rate of $86 plus the parking fee of $13.50 plus a resort fee of around $15 (some other taxes might also have been added to the bill) per night for 2 nights. We ended up staying at the Gaylord Palms. Hence the resort fee wasn’t too outrageous, I guess. Valet parking would have been more expensive. I liked the indoor atrium area with an ice cream parlor on the lobby level.
Ordinarily, I prefer to stay at less pricey places, but I suppose that it was nice to spend some time at the nice hotel.
We spent some of the day at the Magic Kingdom, of Disney World. Previously we’ve spent some time at Epcot, prior to checking in at the Hotel. After checkout this morning, we went to Cocoa Beach and Ron Jon Surf Shop. I was rather impressed by the scale of Ron Jon Surf Shop.
For both evenings, we went to Old Town, near Kissimmee. There was a shop at Old Town called Tiki Jim’s which had a T-shirt that looked cool. It was a tie dye T-shirt with the words “Peace, Love and Sunshine” above Florida. I might have gotten it, but the large size T-shirt was only available in a green color, and that wasn’t the most attractive. There was another store at Old Town called Black Market Minerals, or something similar. There were some cool jewelry pieces at the store. I got some stuff at clearance prices.
Since having the surgeries (Lap Band) our stomachs are smaller. We had soup at a couple of meals. Oddly, it was enough. We ate at Perkins for one meal, but neither of us could finish the meal.
